The village is a typical Cypriot Village full of ‘old world charm’ and warm hospitality. In the centre of the village are 2 quaint Tavernas, there is a bakery, a small supermarket, bank and a home made ice cream parlour. It has the added advantage of being close to beautiful secluded beaches and within 8km of two championship Golf Courses, Aphrodite Hills and Secret Valley with a third one under construction and designed by the world famous golfer Nick Faldo which is also within an 8km radius of the village. Also under construction and very close to the village is The American Academy International School and a large Hypermarket. There are plans for a small Marina, the licence has been applied for but not yet received and also a 400 property Tourist Village. The Community Board of the village is always thinking of ways to improve the facilities of this charming village and it’s nearby surroundings to the benefit of all it’s residents for example improving the quality of the beach, incorporating a new park and a play area and the creation of the nature trail through the Cha-Potami riverbed, beginning in the community’s south side and ending at the north side. Eco Tourism is also given great consideration by the Board, offering to the local residents and tourists the opportunity to spend their holidays close to nature and close to the simple and hospitable people of Cyprus, becoming familiar with their manners and customs, traditional architecture, trying out the traditional Cypriot cuisine and local products. The opportunity of places to visit, things to do, food to sample are never ending.
